Safety and quality should be a prime concern for engineers and management companies. Companies who decide to take responsibility for their equipment and processes will seek to find ways to monitor processes online and to evaluate the condition of their process and equipment from actual data that represents the current condition. With no or very little information, troubleshooting can be a nightmare and a cause of unplanned downtime .The mini EASZ-1 online water in oil monitor is an excellent device for operators of high speed disc bowl centrifuges for oil water separation, diesel fuel and lube oils in the marine industry, power plants and businesses that rely on equipment to separate water and contaminants from oil.

The EASZ-1 water in oil monitor can be retrofitted to any existing Alfa Laval, Mitsubishi, Westphalia or well known brands of oil purification equipment including centrifugal separators for lube oils and fuel oils.

Some clients have opted to install the mini EASZ-1 during the reconditioning of their high speed disc bowl centrifuges which are being used to condition oil in power plants, marine installations , gas turbines and industrial oil applications.

The EASZ-1 water in oil monitor has been successfully implemented for several years in a myriad of applications where operators require actual data as opposed to “guessing” on the condition of the oil and for determining the state and currentl reliability of equipment they have purchased for separating water and particulate contamination in fuel oil, turbine lube oils, other lubricating oils, and equipment associated with large diesel engines.

The DACS control system for high speed centrifuges

The DACS system is a simple dual channel control cabinet that was designed initially to solve a problem for a Japanese ship management company who had purchased several EASZ-1 water in oil monitors but later on found out that they were sending alarm to the control room each time a desludging cycle was in operation. This is a common phenomenon in high speed centrifuging when water is being dumped out. During this operation, there is a sudden increase in water content at the outlet of the oil centrifuge which is picked up immediately by the EASZ-1 water in oil monitor showing not only the increase in water content but exactly what amount of contamination is occurring and for how long. Operators who are familiar with this phenomenon and do not want an alarm to be sounded in the control room each time there is a desludging operation will benefit from the DACS control unit which can act as a delay timer adjustable to any size or brand of oil centrifuge and operation since the the timer is set according to the onsite requirements.
