Liquid Ring Vacuum Pump

Liquid Ring Vacuum Pump

Wintek typically supplies liquid ring vacuum pump systems using: Dekker Vacuum, Robuschi, and Travaini. We have also supplied systems using: Nash, Siemens, SiHi.

They can be purchased as a bare shaft pump, pump with motor, or configured in various complete standard or custom systems:

Once-thru-water water sealed (includes sealant flow controls and a discharge separator tank). Typically used when water cost/use/disposal is not an issue. Water hardness would be of concern for long term life. Any process carryover is flushed out with the sealant water.

Full recovery water sealed (includes larger separator, sealant controls and heat exchanger) reuses the sealant water in a closed loop, so that any process is not in contact with the cooling water. This type of system is used when the facility has a cooling tower or chiller for cooling water.

Full recovery oil-sealed (Vmax™) this pre-designed package is a cross between an air-cooled rotary vane pump and a full recovery liquid ring vacuum pump. The pump is available as air or water cooled. It is used in relatively clean and moist applications with minimal carry-over concerns.

Full recovery solvent sealed (includes larger separator, sealant controls and heat exchanger). This package is custom designed to handle solvents, and may utilize a solvent as the sealant. Any liquid solvent can be used to allow for solvent recovery provided the required operating vacuum level and cooling water temperatures are appropriate.

Selecting the right size: for all the advantages and reliability of liquid ring vacuum pumps, determining the correct size for an application is not very easy. Wintek is an expert in the correct sizing/selection of liquid ring pumps will help you through this step. Many factors affect the operation of this pump, which can be both good and bad: Cooling/sealant temperature, vapor temperatures, solvents handled, vapor loads (dry, saturated or partially saturated), sealant viscosity, backpressure, etc.

The most rugged, most forgiving, and reasonably priced type of vacuum pump available in the world.

  • Capable of ingesting relatively large quantities of liquid and soft solids (process upsets) without mechanical damage.
  • Very low maintenance requirements
  • ISO9001 manufactured Available in cast iron, bronze fitted, stainless fitted, all stainless and Hastelloy
